Tamiya Audi R8 LMS 2008 (TT-02) – A GT3 Racing Icon
Introduced in 2008, the Audi R8 LMS was developed to compete in GT3 racing championships around the world. Based on the production Audi R8 sports car, it featured a lightweight aluminum space frame, a powerful mid-mounted 5.2-liter V10 engine producing over 500 horsepower, and race-specific aerodynamic enhancements. From 2009 onward, the Audi R8 LMS achieved numerous victories and championships, becoming one of the most successful customer GT3 race cars ever built. Tamiya faithfully recreates this motorsport legend with a detailed polycarbonate body mounted on the reliable TT-02 shaft-driven 4WD chassis.

Interesting Fact
The Audi R8 LMS was Audi’s first dedicated GT3 customer race car. Although the road-going Audi R8 was famous for its quattro all-wheel-drive system, GT3 regulations required the race version to use rear-wheel drive. Despite this change, the Audi R8 LMS went on to become one of the most successful GT3 race cars in motorsport history.

Recommended Battery
For the best performance, we recommend using a 7.4V 2S LiPo battery together with a compatible LiPo charger. A LiPo battery provides longer runtime, stronger acceleration, and lower weight compared to traditional NiMH packs.
