The Kyosho Mini-Z RWD Sauber Mercedes C9 No.63 brings the legendary 1989 Le Mans-winning Silver Arrow to Kyosho’s latest-generation MR-04 platform. As part of the Kyosho Mini-Z RWD range, this compact RC car combines highly detailed scale styling with precise rear-wheel-drive handling for indoor driving and Mini-Z racing.
The factory-finished body recreates the Sauber-Mercedes C9 No.63 that won the 1989 24 Hours of Le Mans. Driven by Jochen Mass, Manuel Reuter and Stanley Dickens, the No.63 C9 took overall victory and led a memorable Sauber-Mercedes one-two finish. Its silver works livery and low Group C prototype shape make this one of the most recognisable endurance racing cars of its era.
Under the body is Kyosho’s MR-04W-LM rear-wheel-drive chassis with a long 102 mm wheelbase. Compared with the previous MR-03 generation, the MR-04 positions the batteries lower in the chassis to reduce the centre of gravity, improving cornering stability and straight-line handling.
Suspension Parts 2.0 optimise caster geometry for a combination of responsive steering and high-speed stability. The front suspension dynamically changes camber throughout its movement to help maintain optimum tyre contact through corners.
At the rear, a T-bar suspension system works together with a coil spring damper to absorb small surface irregularities and maintain stable handling. The standard rear damper can also be upgraded with optional Mini-Z performance parts.
A geared differential provides smooth cornering, while full ball bearings throughout the drivetrain help minimise rotational resistance. Power comes from a user-friendly 130-class brushed motor, delivering manageable hobby-grade performance for both newcomers and experienced Mini-Z drivers.
The chassis is compatible with the optional MZW711 gyro unit, which adds electronic steering assistance for improved stability. Gyro sensitivity can be adjusted directly on the chassis according to the track and driver’s preference.
The included Syncro KT-531P 2.4GHz transmitter features steering and throttle trim, steering dual rate and Training Mode. Training Mode reduces vehicle speed, making the Mini-Z easier to control while learning.
Please note that the Sauber Mercedes C9 body is not compatible with the MZW429R LED light unit.
This Readyset includes the factory-assembled MR-04 chassis, fully painted and marked Sauber Mercedes C9 No.63 body and Syncro KT-531P transmitter. Simply add the required AAA batteries to start driving.
