The Kyosho Mini-Z RWD McLaren F1 GTR KE 30th Anniversary combines one of the most iconic GT racing cars of the 1990s with Kyosho’s latest-generation MR-04 rear-wheel-drive chassis. As part of the Kyosho Mini-Z RWD range, this compact RC car offers precise on-road handling, detailed scale styling and genuine hobby-grade performance for indoor driving and Mini-Z racing.
The factory-finished body recreates the legendary McLaren F1 GTR in a special 30th Anniversary edition created to commemorate the anniversary of Kyosho distributor FDL. The real McLaren F1 GTR made an immediate impact in international racing, taking overall victory at the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans in its debut year. This limited-edition Mini-Z body is especially notable because Kyosho states that it will not be sold separately.
Under the body is Kyosho’s MR-04W-MM rear-wheel-drive chassis with a 98 mm wheelbase. Compared with the previous MR-03 generation, the MR-04 positions the batteries lower in the chassis to reduce the centre of gravity, improving cornering stability and straight-line handling.
Revised front knuckles reduce scrub and provide sharper, more linear steering response. The front suspension dynamically adjusts camber as it moves, helping maintain optimum tyre contact through corners. At the rear, a T-bar suspension system works together with a coil spring damper to absorb small surface irregularities and maintain stable handling.
A geared differential provides smooth cornering, while full ball bearings throughout the drivetrain help minimise rotational resistance. Power comes from a user-friendly 130-class brushed motor, delivering responsive and manageable performance for both newcomers and experienced Mini-Z drivers.
The chassis is compatible with the optional MZW711 gyro unit, which can add electronic steering assistance for increased stability. Gyro sensitivity can be adjusted directly on the chassis to suit the track and driver’s preference.
The included Syncro KT-531P 2.4GHz transmitter features steering and throttle trim, steering dual rate and Training Mode. Training Mode reduces vehicle speed, making the Mini-Z easier to control while learning.
The optional MZW429R LED light unit can be installed on the rear of the McLaren F1 GTR body, but Kyosho specifies that the front LEDs cannot be installed on this 30th Anniversary version.
This Readyset includes the factory-assembled chassis, special McLaren F1 GTR KE 30th Anniversary body and Syncro KT-531P transmitter. Simply add the required AAA batteries to start driving.
