Nitro Engines

Nitro engines for RC cars from .12 to .25 cubic inch.

Frequent Questions & Answers
What does the nitro engine size mean?

Engine size is the displacement in cubic inches, such as .21 or .28. A bigger number means more power, matched to bigger or faster cars.

How do I break in a new nitro engine?

Run several tanks rich and cool so the parts bed in, following the maker’s break-in guide. Rushing break-in shortens the engine’s life.

How long does a nitro engine last?

With good filtering, tuning and after-run care an engine lasts a long time. Running lean, dirty or without an air filter wears it out fast.

What else do I need to run a nitro engine?

You need nitro fuel, a matching glow plug, a glow igniter, an exhaust pipe and an air filter, plus after-run oil to protect it between sessions.
