      How fast do RC speed boats go?

      Entry-level electric boats reach around 20 to 30 km/h, which is plenty of fun. Brushless racing models can pass 60 km/h, so start slow and build up as you get comfortable.

      Brushed or brushless, which should I choose?

      Brushed is the easy, affordable way to start. Brushless costs more but gives higher speed, better efficiency and longer motor life, which is why racers prefer it.

      Where can I run an RC speed boat?

      On calm lakes and ponds, away from swimmers and boats. Avoid weedy water, since plants can wrap around the propeller and stall the motor.

      How long does a run last?

      Expect roughly 10 to 20 minutes per charge, depending on the battery and how hard you push the throttle. Carrying spare packs keeps you on the water longer.

      Can I use my boat in salt water?

      Many boats handle salt water fine, but always rinse the hull and running gear with fresh water and dry it afterwards to prevent corrosion.
