Frequent Questions & Answers
Is the MINI-Z AWD or RWD?

The Mini-Z lineup includes both AWD and RWD models. Mini-Z AWD cars use the MA-020 or MA-020N chassis with four-wheel drive and drift tires, while Mini-Z RWD models use rear-wheel-drive chassis designed primarily for racing and grip driving.

Is MINI-Z AWD good for beginners?

Yes. Mini-Z AWD is one of the best beginner drift platforms available. The all-wheel-drive system provides excellent stability and control, making drifting easier to learn than with larger RWD drift cars.

What is the difference between MA-020 and MA-020N?

Both are AWD drift chassis platforms. The MA-020N is the latest evolution and is commonly used in newer Mini-Z AWD releases. It features updated electronics and improved compatibility with current body and chassis configurations.

Can Mini-Z AWD cars be upgraded?

Absolutely. One of the biggest advantages of the Mini-Z platform is the huge selection of tuning parts and upgrades available. Everything from suspension and steering components to motors, gears, wheels, and gyros can be upgraded.

Can I use different Mini-Z bodies on my AWD chassis?

In most cases, yes. Many Auto Scale Collection bodies are interchangeable between Mini-Z chassis platforms, although some body styles may require different wheel offsets, wheelbases, or mounting parts.

Is Mini-Z AWD suitable for indoor driving?

Yes. Mini-Z AWD was specifically designed for small spaces. Smooth floors, garages, offices, living rooms, and dedicated Mini-Z tracks are all ideal environments for drifting and racing.
