The Trailrunner features IFS independent front suspension, giving the truck the look and driving characteristics of a modern full-size off-road vehicle. An aluminum steering rack and steering plates provide precise steering response, while the front steering system allows up to 45 degrees of steering angle.

At the heart of the drivetrain is the innovative Stealth X transmission, which allows the front and rear drive ratios to be adjusted independently. The RTR comes factory-equipped with 5.7% front overdrive to improve steering and climbing performance. Gears for an 11.83% overdrive setup are also included, while optional gears allow a conventional 1:1 front-to-rear ratio.

Power is supplied by a Reedy Power 16T 5-slot brushed crawler motor, delivering smooth and controllable torque at low speeds. The motor is paired with a water-resistant Reedy SC480X electronic speed controller featuring proportional forward and reverse, LiPo low-voltage protection and a T-plug battery connector. Steering is handled by a Reedy Power 1320MG high-torque metal-gear servo, while an XP130 2.4GHz 3-channel radio system is included.

The high-strength polycarbonate Trailrunner body uses a two-piece design and includes plenty of scale details. Molded accessories include the grille, fender flares, side mirrors, door handles, front bumper with D-rings, snorkel and roof rack. This makes it easy to create anything from a clean showroom-style SUV to a fully equipped trail rig.

Soft-compound General Grabber A/T X tires provide dependable grip and are mounted to three-piece 1.55″ beadlock wheels. The mechanical beadlock design securely holds the tires without glue and makes future tire changes simple.
